nahdran – upclose – изблизи – מקרוב - ENGLISH VERSION

nahdran—upclose—изблизи—מקרוב is a new event series by and for young Jewish people in Leipzig. We want to create accessible spaces where our current life realities and voices take center stage. Our aim is to shift the focus away from outside perspectives and toward the many facets of Jewishness. This includes different biographies and backgrounds, queer perspectives, ruptures and contradictions—beyond fixed images, stereotypes, or expectations.

At the heart of the series is community building. Many young Jewish people rarely encounter each other in everyday life—at least not naturally or without obstacles. The events are opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and build relationships. We want to foster an atmosphere that can become a braver space: a space where encounters are open, respectful, and authentic.

At the same time, we understand the project as an empowerment space that makes self-determined forms of expression, personal topics, and perspectives visible.

nahdran—upclose—изблизи—מקרוב stands for connection, shared discovery, and staying open-hearted with one another.
