Miteinander Vor Ort

International healthcare professionals are already ensuring the provision of medical and nursing care in Saxony. To ensure they stay in the long term, they need not only successful onboarding but also social participation and a sense of belonging in society.

Healthcare facilities are already doing a great deal to help international professionals settle in. In addition to professional onboarding, staff members often provide social support—frequently on top of their regular work duties and personal commitment.

That is why the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, and Social Cohesion is funding pilot projects that work with healthcare facilities to develop sustainable support structures.

The new pilot project “Together Locally – Mentoring and Participation for Healthcare Professionals” aims to develop, in collaboration with healthcare facilities, municipalities, and civil society partners, mentoring and support structures for professionals with an immigrant background in Leipzig and the surrounding areas of Central Saxony.
